Fees for transactions via Unioo

The fees are paid by the association per transaction. These are standard fees set by card providers. Any sales entity must pay these fees for each transaction, as they are related to security. See explanations and examples below.

The following fees are the only ones the association pays for memberships and ticket sales:

Card provider fees

Mastercard and VISA

Domestic = Payments with cards issued in Denmark

Intra region = Payments with cards issued in Europe

Inter region = Payments with cards issued outside Europe

Consumer = Private cards

Business = Corporate cards

NETS

The system will often attempt to apply the lowest fee. For example, if using a VISA/Dankort, the cheaper Dankort fee will be applied instead of the more expensive VISA fee, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Other fees

Authorization fee

The authorization fee is a charge paid for processing the transaction itself. It is also referred to as a "transaction fee." This fee does not apply to NETS/Dankort transactions (only Visa and Mastercard).

3-D Secure

3-D Secure is a fee applied for an extra layer of security in transactions involving amounts of 225 DKK or more. In Denmark, this security layer is MitID. This fee does not apply to NETS/Dankort transactions (only Visa and Mastercard).

MobilePay for ticket purchases

When purchasing tickets, it is possible to pay with MobilePay. This incurs an additional cost of 0.99% for the association. The 0.99% is calculated based on the ticket price plus the administration fee of 8 DKK. Note that the ticket price and the 8 DKK administration fee are paid by the buyer, while the 0.99% fee is covered by the association.

Acquirer fees

All the above-mentioned fees are applicable regardless of which online membership payment solution is used when ensuring a secure payment system. Collectively, these are referred to as acquirer fees.

Acquirer fees are calculated based on the total amount paid by the buyer (including administration fees).

Examples

Example 1:

A member of a handball club must pay a monthly membership fee of 100 DKK. An additional transaction fee of 3.70 DKK is applied, making the total amount subject to acquirer fees: 100 + 3.70 = 103.70 DKK.

He uses a Visa Debit/Mastercard as a private individual. This means the association must pay 1.25% (or a minimum of 0.60 DKK). The calculation is: 103.70 * 1.25 / 100 = 1.30 DKK.

Additionally, an authorization fee of 0.22 DKK is added, bringing the total fee to: 1.30 + 0.22 = 1.52 DKK.

Thus, the association receives: 98.48 DKK.

Example 2:

A member must pay 600 DKK quarterly for their membership in a shooting club. The transaction fee for quarterly payments is 5.70 DKK, making the total amount subject to acquirer fees: 600 + 5.70 = 605.70 DKK.

The member pays with a Dankort, which has a card issuer fee of 0.32%. The calculation is: 605.70 * 0.32 / 100 = 1.94 DKK, which the association must pay in fees for this transaction.

Thus, the association receives: 598.06 DKK.

Example 3:

A member must pay 4,000 DKK as an annual fee to a housing association. They also pay a 9.70 DKK administration fee. The total amount subject to acquirer fees is 4,000 + 9.70 = 4,009.70 DKK.

The member pays with their personal VISA card, meaning the association must pay 1.25% according to the card issuer's rates. This results in: 4,009.70 * 1.25 / 100 = 50.12 DKK.

Additionally, an authorization fee and 3D-Secure fee of 0.52 DKK apply. The total fees amount to: 50.12 + 0.52 = 50.64 DKK.

Thus, the association receives: 3,949.36 DKK.

REMEMBER, as an association, you are not tied to any expensive payment agreements with Unioo. You only pay these fees.
